This 12" 2LP edition is the 2025 Reissue on Palantir Clear Vinyl, released through Rhino / Warner. The soundtrack is performed by the London Philharmonic Orchestra with choir and featured vocalists, combining sweeping orchestral arrangements, choral passages and folk instrumentation.
Across four sides, the 19-track soundtrack includes “The Riders Of Rohan”, “The King Of The Golden Hall”, “Evenstar”, “The White Rider”, “Helm’s Deep”, “The Hornburg”, “Forth Eorlingas”, “Isengard Unleashed”, “Samwise The Brave” and “Gollum’s Song”.
The score moves from the gentle and haunting “Evenstar” to the immense battle music of “Helm’s Deep” and “The Hornburg”, before closing with the emotional “Gollum’s Song”. It remains one of Howard Shore’s most celebrated film scores and an essential part of the musical world of Middle-earth.
