This 12" 2LP original pressing was released through Sony Classical and features 27 compositions across four sides. The soundtrack includes memorable pieces such as “The Thestral Chase”, “Dumbledore”, “The Kelpie”, “Nagini”, “Blood Pact”, “Capturing The Zouwu”, “Traveling To Hogwarts”, “Leta's Flashback”, “Leta's Confession”, “Vision Of War” and “Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald”.
The final side is particularly interesting, featuring three solo piano performances by James Newton Howard: “Dumbledore's Theme (Solo Piano)”, “Fantastic Beasts Theme (Solo Piano)” and “Leta's Theme (Solo Piano)”. These piano pieces were not heard in the film and provide a more intimate interpretation of some of the soundtrack's central themes.
From the dramatic opening of “The Thestral Chase” through to the sweeping title theme and intimate piano arrangements, Howard's score combines orchestral scale, magical atmosphere and darker dramatic tension to complement the world of Fantastic Beasts.
