The record introduced the Los Angeles band’s raw blend of hard rock, glam metal and heavy metal, laying the foundation for the sound that would make them one of the biggest rock bands of the 1980s.
This 12" LP is the 2022 BMG reissue, featuring the 2021 remastered audio. The nine-track album includes early Crüe favourites such as “Live Wire,” “Come On And Dance,” “Public Enemy #1,” “Merry-Go-Round,” “Take Me To The Top,” “Piece Of Your Action,” “Starry Eyes,” “Too Fast For Love” and “On With The Show.”
The album captures Mötley Crüe in their formative years, with “Live Wire” and “Take Me To The Top” showcasing the band's energetic, riff-heavy approach, while the title track and “On With The Show” helped establish the attitude and theatricality that became central to the band's identity.
The original 1981 release was issued on the band's independent Leathür Records label before Elektra signed Mötley Crüe and the album was remixed and partially re-recorded. The version represented by this BMG reissue follows the later standard track configuration rather than the original Leathür Records version.
For fans of classic glam metal and 1980s hard rock, Too Fast For Love remains an essential Mötley Crüe album and an important document of the band's beginnings.
