Description: St. Valentine’s Day Massacre is a classic 1981 collaborative EP from two of the most ferocious forces in British heavy metal: Motörhead and Girlschool. Nicknamed "Headgirl" for this one-off union, the project was born out of mutual respect and shared energy, blending Lemmy's feral intensity with Girlschool’s fierce, fast-paced attitude.
Originally released on Bronze Records, the EP features the joint cover of Johnny Kidd & The Pirates' rock 'n' roll staple "Please Don’t Touch", alongside each band covering one of the other’s tracks: Girlschool reimagine Motörhead’s "Bomber", while Motörhead take on Girlschool’s "Emergency". The result is a high-octane, tongue-in-cheek, and electrifying metal EP that captures the camaraderie and spirit of the NWOBHM scene.
This 2021 Record Store Day reissue celebrates the 40th anniversary of the EP’s original release. Pressed as a 10" picture disc, it retains the iconic black-and-red aesthetic, commemorating the legacy of this legendary collaboration. With only a limited number of copies available worldwide, this edition is a must-have for fans of either band and collectors of rare heavy metal vinyl.
