Description: Muse’s Origin Of Symmetry is the English alternative-rock band's second studio album, originally released on 17 July 2001. The album was a major breakthrough for Muse, reaching No. 3 on the UK Albums Chart and eventually achieving Platinum certification in the UK.
This 12" 2LP is the 2009 Reissue, released through Mushroom / Taste / Warner Bros. The album contains 11 tracks across four sides, including some of Muse's most recognisable songs: “New Born,” “Bliss,” “Plug In Baby,” “Citizen Erased,” “Feeling Good” and “Megalomania.”
The album showcases the band's increasingly ambitious sound, combining alternative rock with progressive arrangements, classical influences, heavy guitar riffs and electronic elements. “New Born” and “Plug In Baby” are driven by some of Matt Bellamy's most memorable guitar work, while the expansive “Citizen Erased” and dramatic “Space Dementia” demonstrate the band's more experimental side.
The album's title and themes were influenced by theoretical physicist Michio Kaku's concept of the "origin of symmetry" discussed in his book Hyperspace.
For Muse fans, Origin Of Symmetry remains one of the band's essential albums and an important release in their development into one of alternative rock's biggest acts.
