The performance showcases Prince at the height of his popularity, delivering a powerful mix of funk, rock, soul and pop.
This 12" LP is the 2016 purple coloured-vinyl pressing, released through Parachute Recording Company. Taken from an FM broadcast of the concert, the 12-track release features live performances of “Let’s Go Crazy,” “1999,” “Little Red Corvette,” “Take Me With U,” “Do Me, Baby,” “How Come U Don’t Call Me Anymore?” and “International Lover.”
The Purple Rain Tour was Prince’s most successful tour, selling more than 1.7 million tickets across 98 shows.
For Prince fans and live-music collectors, this broadcast recording captures the energy of one of the artist’s most celebrated touring eras.
