Description: The Who’s The Who Sell Out is the British rock band’s third studio album, originally released on 15 December 1967. A landmark of 1960s British rock and pop, the album takes the form of a fictional broadcast from pirate radio station Radio London, with songs interspersed with mock advertisements and jingles.
This 12" 1LP is the 2004 reissue, released through Track / Decca. The 13-track album includes some of The Who’s most celebrated recordings, including “Armenia City In The Sky,” “Mary-Anne With The Shaky Hands,” “Tattoo,” “Our Love Was,” “I Can See For Miles,” and “Rael.”
Produced by Kit Lambert, The Who Sell Out captures the band at an inventive point in their career, combining powerful rock performances with psychedelic influences, pop melodies and the playful presentation of a pirate radio broadcast. “I Can See For Miles” became one of the band's most ambitious singles, while the album’s advertising concept gives it a distinctive character unlike most contemporary releases.
