Description: The Who’s The Who Sell Out is the British rock band’s third studio album, originally released on 15 December 1967. One of the most inventive albums of the 1960s, the record presents The Who as though they are broadcasting from a fictional pirate radio station, with songs interspersed with mock advertisements and jingles.
This 12" 1LP is the 2015 remastered reissue, pressed on 180g vinyl and released through Polydor / Track Records. The 13-track album features some of The Who’s most celebrated recordings, including “Armenia City In The Sky,” “Mary-Anne With The Shaky Hands,” “Tattoo,” “Our Love Was,” “I Can See For Miles,” “Relax,” and “Rael.”
Produced by Kit Lambert, The Who Sell Out combines the band’s powerful rock sound with psychedelic pop, experimental production and the playful atmosphere of a 1960s radio broadcast. “I Can See For Miles” remains one of the album’s defining moments, while the concept gives the record a unique character within The Who’s catalogue.
