The album contains 12 tracks across two sides, including the series theme “You’ve Got Time” by Regina Spektor, along with “Milkshake” by Kelis, “Sunday Morning” by The Velvet Underground & Nico, “Gangsta” by Tune-Yards, “I’ll Take You There” by The Staple Singers and “Walkin Up The Road” by Betty Davis.
Regina Spektor's “You’ve Got Time” was written specifically for Orange Is The New Black and became one of the defining musical elements of the series. The soundtrack also showcases the eclectic musical choices that helped give the show its distinctive identity, moving between soul, funk, indie rock, alternative music and classic pop.
Other highlights include Kelis' “Milkshake,” The Velvet Underground & Nico's “Sunday Morning,” Little Foot Long Foot's “Kickface” and The Dutchess & The Duke's “Living This Life Makes It Hard.” Together, the 12 tracks reflect the wide-ranging musical style that became an important part of the show's atmosphere.
