Description:Green Day’s Insomniac is the band’s fourth studio album, originally released in 1995. Following the enormous success of Dookie, the album took Green Day’s punk-pop sound in a darker, heavier direction, packed with distorted guitars, sharp hooks and the raw energy that became a defining part of the band’s 1990s sound.
This 25th Anniversary Deluxe Edition 2LP was released in 2021 and features the remastered original album alongside a collection of live recordings from Green Day’s 1996 Prague performance. The original album includes favourites such as “Armatage Shanks”, “Brat”, “Stuck With Me”, “Geek Stink Breath”, “Brain Stew”, “Jaded” and “Walking Contradiction”.
The second LP expands the release with eight live performances from the Prague tour, including live versions of “Armatage Shanks”, “Brat”, “Geek Stink Breath”, “Stuck With Me”, “Brain Stew”, “Jaded”, “Walking Contradiction” and “86”. The fourth side features etched artwork rather than audio, giving this anniversary edition an extra collector-focused touch.
For Green Day and pop-punk fans, this Deluxe Edition offers a great combination of the remastered Insomniac album and energetic live recordings from the band's mid-1990s era.
