Created by Jack Black and Kyle Gass, the album serves as the soundtrack to their animated Post-Apocalypto web series, following the duo as they attempt to save humanity after a nuclear apocalypse.
This 12" 1LP is the Limited Picture Disc edition, featuring the original picture disc pressing released through Columbia Records. The 21-track album includes “Post-Apocalypto Theme,” “Hope,” “Making Love,” “Fuck Yo-Yo Ma,” “Robot,” “Colors,” “Save The World,” and “Post-Apocalypto Theme (Reprise)”.
Produced by bassist John Spiker, the album features contributions from longtime Tenacious D collaborators including John Konesky and Dave Grohl, while incorporating songs and audio snippets from the animated series. From its deliberately ridiculous humour to its theatrical rock performances, Post-Apocalypto delivers the irreverent style Tenacious D fans have come to expect.
