Description: Muse’s The 2nd Law is the English alternative-rock trio’s sixth studio album, originally released on 28 September 2012. The album takes Muse’s grand, experimental rock sound into electronic, orchestral and progressive territory, while introducing a greater songwriting and vocal contribution from bassist Chris Wolstenholme.
This 12" 2LP pressing contains the complete 13-track album across four sides. The release is presented in a gatefold sleeve with printed lyric inserts and features 180g black vinyl. The barcode for this pressing is 825646568772.
The album opens with the dramatic “Supremacy”, followed by the huge single “Madness” and the funk-influenced “Panic Station.” Other highlights include “Survival,” which was used as the official song of the 2012 London Olympics, “Follow Me,” “Animals” and “Explorers.”
The final side contains the three-part closing sequence “Liquid State,” “The 2nd Law: Unsustainable” and “The 2nd Law: Isolated System,” bringing the album to its ambitious electronic and orchestral conclusion.
The album's artwork is based on a visualisation of neural pathways from the Human Connectome Project, reflecting the record's themes around science, technology and the forces that govern the world.
