Produced by Arif Mardin, Come Away With Me established Jones’ distinctive sound, blending jazz, blues, folk, country and pop influences with her understated vocals and piano-led arrangements. The album's relaxed and intimate production helped create a sound that was both contemporary and rooted in classic American songwriting traditions.
“Don’t Know Why” became the album's signature song and earned Jones three Grammy Awards, while tracks such as “Seven Years,” “Cold Cold Heart” and “Come Away With Me” showcase the intimate songwriting and restrained performances that became central to her early career.
