Description: U2’s The Unforgettable Fire is the Irish rock band’s fourth studio album, originally released on 1 October 1984. The album marked a major creative shift for U2, moving away from the harder-edged rock of War towards a more atmospheric, experimental and expansive sound.
This 12" 1LP is the 2009 25th Anniversary remastered reissue, released through Island Records and pressed on 180g vinyl. The 10-track album features some of U2’s most enduring songs, including “A Sort Of Homecoming,” “Pride (In The Name Of Love),” “The Unforgettable Fire,” “Bad,” “Indian Summer Sky,” and “MLK.” The 2009 edition also includes a 16-page booklet with lyrics and liner notes.
Produced by Brian Eno and Daniel Lanois, The Unforgettable Fire was recorded at Slane Castle and Windmill Lane Studios in Ireland. The album’s layered guitars, atmospheric production and more abstract songwriting created a new sonic direction for the band, with “Pride (In The Name Of Love)” becoming U2’s biggest hit at the time.
For fans of U2, alternative rock, post-punk and classic 1980s music, this 180g remastered 1LP edition is an essential addition to any vinyl collection.
